The 10 Best Additions to South Florida in 2019

Miami, Florida is said to be the new NYC and LA combined where culture meets entertainment in a way like no other city in the world. We've put a list together for you on the top 10 newest additions in the Sunshine State this year that every resident can enjoy.


1. FASHION

Christian Dior Fashion Show - Miami Beach, Florida


Miami Herald shares Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, David Beckham and models Kate Moss and Winnie Harlow were among the celebs at Dior's first runway show in the U.S.

2. ART

Art Basel - Miami Beach Florida

Lifestyle and E-commerces reporter for Forbes, Tanya Klich shared her Basel inside scoop from art galleries, private parties to island hopping--celebrities like Paris Hilton, A$AP Rocky and more came into town for the best annual art weekend to party in Miami and enjoy our best weather year round.


The Art Basel 2019 joke that went viral:

On the second to last day of the Art Basel Exhibit, the $120,000 created by Maurizio Cattelan and titled “Comedian" was taken off the wall and eaten by a New York City performance artist, David Datuna in town--you can watch it on his Instagram, here. Several photos and videos on social media shared that Mr. Datuna was removed from the premises although no charges were pressed against him by the gallery.

Guitar Hotel - Fort Lauderdale, Florida


The Hardrock Casino opened their new 1.5 billion dollar hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida late fall of 2019 with a structure of 450 feet.

The grand opening of the Hard Rock Hotel was on October 24th and invited celebrities like Khloe Kardashian, Johnny Depp and Sofia Richie.

4. FAMILY

Baker Park - Naples, Florida


The dream of this 15 acre public park begun over decades ago. An article by Naples Daily News shared, "once completed, the project is estimated to cost approximately $23 million, which includes the original land purchase, making it the most expensive public project in Naples history."

"The project began as Gordon River Park, but the name was changed to Baker Park after Jay and Patty Baker donated $2 million. Jay Baker retired as CEO of Kohl's department stores, and Patty Baker is an award-winning Broadway producer." - @naplesnews.

Restaurants - Papi Steak

The New York Post named Papi Steak one of Miami's best new restaurants of 2019. An additional Miami hot spot owned by Dave Grutman (Barron Collier High School Graduate) who partnered with David “Papi” Einhorn, Grutman to offer "a menu featuring both kosher and non-kosher items, like wagyu pastrami, Maine lobster, chicken schnitzel, latkes, and of course, the namesake Papi Steak (with its secret, dairy-free sauce). "

Charity

Florida's #1 Medspa owner, Lisa Hochstein celebrates an evening of giving back at the Make a Wish Foundation Gala alongside E! Entertainment Television Founder Alan Mruvka and Instagram film producer Michael Bay.

Did you know that British car dealer, Aston Martin is building the tallest building south of New York in Miami?


The Miami residences are the inaugural luxury real estate venture for the automotive icon, which is teaming up with Argentine developer G and G Business Developments to build a 66-floor, 818-foot tall condo tower on the north bank of the Miami River, a short distance from Biscayne Bay.
